Dear Captains,

1. Please ensure all relevant people are aware of the upcoming briefing
times and information below this email.
2. Please request that experienced rowers consider signing up for umpiring:
this counts towards your club's marshalling requirement. Link here
<http://www.cucbc.org/lents/umpires/signup>
(2b. Umpire sign-up deadline is noon this Saturday. Marshal allocation
requirements per club should be sent out this weekend)
3. If you're receiving insane numbers of Bumps-related emails and messages,
send a kind thought our way. *Make sure that all emails to the CUCBC
committee are sent to us all on the Committee email, for a faster response.
*Email *committee at cucbc.org <committee at cucbc.org>*.
4. There have been a number of evidenced complaints from the Cam's
houseboat community recently. *Please ensure all crews, coxes and coaches
are aware of the following:*

   - Avoid hitting houseboats! but especially their paintwork whenever
   possible.
   - Be polite and courteous at all times. Do apologise if you make contact.
   - Use the rubber/rope fenders to push off whenever needed and possible,
instead of risking scratching paintwork or hitting below the water line.
   - Do not be afraid to apologise and identify yourself in the case of an
incident. This is what insurance policies exist for.
   - Experience of coaches is not a reason to avoid apologising for
incidents involving other crews or river users.
   - Speed/ perceived significance of a crew is never a reason to queue
   jump a blind corner.

Here's to an exciting few weeks! May your crews remain injury- and
illness-free.

Best wishes
Cat
