[CUCBC Captains] Quintin Eights Head - 28 January 2012

[The Quintin Head]

BROE is now open for entries to the Quintin Head – the first of 2012's 
Tideway eights heads.

The number of crews entering has increased year by year.  For the 2011 
race we were able to accept 110 (the maximum allowed by the Port of 
London Authority without a river closure) but we had to turn away 
another 40.  For the 2012 race we are paying to have the river closed, 
so we will no longer be limited by the PLA's maximum.

One other change for the 2012 race is that we have slightly extended the 
course.  It will still start from the University Stone at Chiswick 
Bridge but the finish will be at Harrod's rather than at Hammersmith 
Bridge.
