Dear All,

The Cantabs Senior Women are looking for new coxes to join the squad this
season, be they as regular subs or full members of the squad, current
students or alumni.

*Who we are*: The most successful women's squad in Cambridge town rowing,
there are approximately 35 regular rowers in the squad, including students,
recent graduates, not-so-recent graduates and those working full-time. The
squad ranges from people who learned to row last season, to those who have
raced at high-profile events including Boat Races and U23 World
Championships. We train and race in every boat type throughout the season.
The squad has 4 dedicated coaches who coach all of our outings, including
British Rowing Coach of the Year Awards winner Tom Copeland. You can watch
our 2020/21 promo video here:

*Where we race*: The Cantabs Senior Women race regularly both on- and
off-Cam, at local and national events where we are very successful. Last
year, each squad member won an average of 4 pots each! Our
achievements last season included A-final finishes at regattas where we
lined up against crews from clubs such as Leander, to winning the Women's
Club 8+ event at the Metropolitan Regatta, qualifying 6 crews for Henley
Women's Regatta, making the final of the Aspirational 8+ at Henley Women's
Regatta and being the first ever Cambridge women's town crew to qualify for
Henley Royal Regatta. In addition, in the Town Bumps, we have held the
women's headship since 2017, and this year our W2 bumped to 2nd on the river
<https://youtu.be/SP7RClqc6_0>, with our 3rd and 4th eights finishing 5th
and 7th on the river. The 12 Cantabs women's crews finished +29 for the
week!

*What we're looking for*: With some of our top coxes leaving the squad this
season, as well as the squad growing compared to previous seasons, we're
looking for new coxes to join the squad. If you're looking to do a bit of
extra coxing alongside your college crew (this is allowed within CUCBC
rules) so that you can develop your skills and benefit from coaching and to
have more racing opportunities, we'd love to hear from you, even if it's
just to be a sub who could be called upon from time to time. If you're
looking to fully join the squad, and train and race alongside a fun,
sociable squad of competitive women who are looking to improve upon last
season's results, to enjoy off-Cam training camps, to race outside of
Cambridge, and to compete at a national level, we'd also love to hear from
you.

You never know, you might find yourself steering us down the Henley course,
to a headship, or to wins at national events!

If you'd be interested in finding out more about the squad, please contact
the women's captains Ellie and Molly for more information:
