> Dear all,
>
> Firstly, by way of introduction, my name is Bill Lucas, the assistant coach at CUBC for the men’s program.
>
> We are starting up the CUBC men’s development squad for this season. The aim of the squad is to provide additional input for those who intend to trial for the 2025 Boat Race squad. The sessions will begin in the Lent term with land-based training sessions at Goldie Boathouse. Sessions will be early in Lent term and run till the 16th of February.
>
> The focus of these sessions will be developing your physiology and giving you a bit of a snapshot of what training inside the Boat Race programme will look like.
>
> The session dates for this term are below.
>
> 23/1/24
> 4x 5’ r24, 26, 26, 28. 5’ rest between sets
> 30/1/24
> 2x 25’ ut2 r18/19 90s rest
> 6/2/24
> 4x 5’ r24, 26, 26, 28. 5’ rest between sets
> 13/2/24
> 2x 25’ ut2 r18/19 90s rest
> 16/2/24
> 2km open rate

> It is always a balancing act to ensure that these sessions sit as well as possible alongside your college training, the intention is that it is supplementary work and won’t detract from the work you do there. At this stage there are no minimum required scores to join, all who are motivated and want to improve are very welcome. However, going into Easter Term water sessions, I will have to cap numbers for safety and equipment reasons, hence we will finish next term with a 2k erg test. You’ll notice the 2k erg test is the second session of that week, this is to ensure that you can be fully focused on your college training as you build into bumps.

> The session times are 9:15 and 10:15. If you can’t make these time slots but would still like to be involved in the dev squad at a later stage, please still fill in the google form and I can add you to the mailing list.
