Dear Captains,

We're looking forward to seeing you at the Captains' pre-term meeting this
Sunday, 15th Jan, from 7pm. Please join here
<https://teams.microsoft.com/l/meetup-join/19%3ameeting_ZjIyNmRjZDMtMzhlMi00MzI3LTljMzktMzY0NjY1YWRiYjI3%40thread.v2/0?context=%7b%22Tid%22%3a%2249a50445-bdfa-4b79-ade3-547b4f3986e9%22%2c%22Oid%22%3a%2293a681e6-a122-4e8a-a515-e5fb032ceebc%22%7d>
.

*General notices*
1. There have been reports of an aggressive individual on the meadow side
of the P&E area, challenging coaches' rights to be on that side of the
river (i.e. to support crews from closer-to). Please be assured that you
have every right to use that path - any issues should be reported with as
much detail as possible to the Cam Conservators River Patrol Officer here
<https://teams.microsoft.com/l/meetup-join/19%3ameeting_ZjIyNmRjZDMtMzhlMi00MzI3LTljMzktMzY0NjY1YWRiYjI3%40thread.v2/0?context=%7b%22Tid%22%3a%2249a50445-bdfa-4b79-ade3-547b4f3986e9%22%2c%22Oid%22%3a%2293a681e6-a122-4e8a-a515-e5fb032ceebc%22%7d>
(and
please do let the committee know).

2. The news you've all been waiting for - EMMs are released
<http://www.cucbc.org/marshals>! (as in, up on the website. You/they are
not free to sleep)

3. A general reminder; the best way to guarantee a quick reply when
contacting the committee is to send it to all of our inboxes:
committee at cucbc.org

*Agenda for Sunday*

1. Lent Bumps

   - Dates
   - Entry fees
   - Eligibility rules reminder
   - Marshals and umpires
   - Briefings

2. EMMs

3. Reminders about lights for all coaches:

   - Ensure lights are white, continuous, visible (new year, new
batteries!), and attached to both the bow and stern of the boat (not people
or riggers). EMMs will be instructed to note dim and missing lights where
relevant. Fines will be introduced from a crew's second offence.
   - Lights should be on no matter the time if the flag is yellow due to
fog. This makes it even more important that they be bright enough!

4. Lent Term rules reminders:

   - no spinning at the bottom of the Reach in the first 15 minutes after
   lighting down.
   - all crews boating within 15 minutes of lighting down must maintain
full crew, full slide rowing until Chesterton footbridge.

5. Updated policy on borrowing equipment for College-run races: fines will
be charged for not returning within 3 days of the event or via specific
arrangement.

6. CUCBC Commitee positions available to apply for (vote in pre-Easter Term
Captains' meeting)

7. AOB

Many thanks, and safe travels to those of you yet to head back to Cambridge.
