As you may or may not be aware from reading the latest LIVING SPORT Partner
Update (April – June 2013) sent by my colleague Katie Bavester, I am now
the lead coordinator for Sportivate within Cambridgeshire & Peterborough
and would like to highlight the next Sportivate deadline.****

** **

This next application deadline is *5pm on Friday 7th June 2013.* This is
for delivery of a 6 week project between October 2013 and March 2014.****

** **

Please can you promote this deadline and share the attached press release
with your clubs, encouraging them to apply for Sportivate funding in
delivering a series of beginner/taster sessions. This could be used for
increasing club members, establishing a new team, or helping to fund the
set-up of recreational sessions.****

*Although any applications up until the next Sportivate deadline will be
for delivery from October 2013, in exceptional circumstances an amendment
to this can be discussed.*

** **

Sportivate is nationally funded by Sport England and the National Lottery,
which is part of Sport England's Places People Play London 2012
mass-participation legacy strategy. It gives 14-25 year olds access to
six-week courses in a range of sports & physical activity opportunities
with Sportivate able to fund the costs associated with activity – whether
that is facility hire, coaching costs, equipment, marketing etc.****

Please also note that as of September 2013, the Sportivate age criteria
will include 11 – 13yo so extending to *11-25 year olds *following a recent
announcement by Sport England of increased investment and a project
extension until March 2017. We will be accepting applications for this new
age group, whether included in a target group or specific for this age
group, however greater scrutiny will be around any of these applications as
requested by Sport England.****
