CHAMPS EIGHTS HEAD -SUNDAY 23rd MAY 2010
DIVS AT 12.00, 1.30pm and 3.00pm
This is a great pre Bumps Cam event for university and town club eights.
Course runs from Plough lawns to the Penny Ferry. Last year 131 eights took
part.

GREAT PRIZES

1. EVENT CATEGORIES
Event Tankards (with free fill of Milton Brewery beer if collected at
prizegiving at City boathouse)
University categories:
Mens Mays Div 1, 2, 3, 4,5 and 6 and Ladies Mays Div 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 

Town categories :CRA Mens Senior, Novice, Vet, Junior /CRA Ladies Senior,
Novice, Vet, Junior 

 

Please note your entry category is your crews position you will be rowing in
May Bumps not your crew position in your boat club e.g. Mays 2 not 1st boat
(as per finish position Mays 2009). 

Any crews that will be entering the Getting-on Race are also very welcome to
enter as M6 or W5.

 

Last year most Men's Mays 1 rowed in Division 1 (12.00) and most Women's
Mays 1 rowed in division 3 (15.00).
If possible can Mays 1 crews select these divisions again. Not obligatory
though!

2. COURSE RECORD
A magnum of Veuve Clicquot Champagne for the fastest men's and ladies crews
(Town or Gown) if they break the current Champs 8's Head course record.
Currently 4.24.1seconds set by Downing M1 in 2008 and 5.07.6 seconds set by
Christs W1 also in 2008.

3. JUDGED BEST STARTS AT THE PLOUGH 
9 bottles of "Champs" for:
Most Impressive Mens start
Most Impressive Ladies start

4. COXING PRIZES 
Coxes prizes for the judged best cornering of Ditton Corner
First prize 2 tickets on a Georgina cruise (with a complimentary bottle of
champagne) and a cox award tankard.
5 other special cox award tankards.
