Dear all,
Apologies that the website is down.
Given the yellow weather warning, high gusty winds varying in direction and
increasing in intensity over the DAY, along with river assessments, the
CUCBC committees have assessed the flag to be yellow all day.

We will update this evening on tomorrow's outlook, as the forecast is
currently very borderline.

The flag is Yellow.

Boating is restricted to University crews, first VIIIs and tub pairs. During Lent Term, any VIIIs in the first or second division of the Lent Bumps may boat. During Easter Term, any VIIIs in the first or second division of the May Bumps may boat. Members of crews permitted to boat under a Yellow Flag may do so in fours or small boats (i.e. single and double sculls and pairs) with the express permission of the Club Captain and/or Boatman.

Outlook: High winds and weather warning still in place. Forecast conditions are borderline yellow at present. 
Flag will be reviewed by 0653, however in any situation flag is likely to be yellow from 12pm onwards.

Subject: [CUCBC Coxes] Changes to CUCBC Mailing Lists

Hi everyone

Happy new year!

Over the next few days, we will be reconfiguring all of the CUCBC mailing lists, to hopefully make them more robust going forward. As part of this change, each of the mailing lists will become a Google Group, though in practice this will make very little difference to the day to day workings of the lists. You will still receive messages to your email inbox, and you will still be able to send messages via email to the lists.

The only significant change will be if you wish to send a message out to the lists. Whereas in the past you would send a message to the lists by emailing <list name>@lists.cucbc.org, you will now send the email to <list name>@cucbc.org (without the ?lists). i.e.:

captains at lists.cucbc.org <mailto:captains at lists.cucbc.org> becomes captains at cucbc.org <mailto:captains at cucbc.org>
contacts at lists.cucbc.org <mailto:contacts at lists.cucbc.org> becomes contacts at cucbc.org <mailto:contacts at cucbc.org>
coxes at lists.cucbc.org <mailto:coxes at lisrs.cucbc.org> becomes coxes at cucbc.org <mailto:coxes at cucbc.org>

In the short term, the old list addresses will still work, but please do move to using the new addresses since we cannot guarantee how long they will keep working for as we streamline our web services.

You may receive one or more emails in the coming days informing you that you have been either subscribed or unsubscribed from the new and old versions of the lists. You can safely disregard all of these, since you will still be on the list!

Do please email webmaster at cucbc.org <mailto:webmaster at cucbc.org> if you have any questions or run into any problems (for example if you realise that the lists have gone uncharacteristically quiet).

Outlook: Wind calming down overnight hence a provisional green for the morning.
However, it picks up again through the day and may well turn yellow again for the afternoon.
Keep an eye on the flag, and make sure you're assessing the conditions yourselves before deciding it's safe for you to boat.
