There are no restrictions on which crews may boat. Outlook: While the river level has fallen substantially since yesterday, the stream remains substantial, although not sufficient to warrant a yellow flag. HOWEVER, it is the responsibility of EVERY crew to make their own risk assessments based on their own confidence and experience on water. Just because the flag does not preclude you from boating, it does not mean it is safe for you to do so. A green flag does not mean you have to go out. Please ensure you stay a good distance from the weir at Baits Bite; parallel spinning there this morning is not wise. Please remind all of your coxes, steerspeople, bank parties and coaches to be aware of this and ensure we avoid any collisions. There are also a group of adult swans near the motorway bridge, please do not row into these, nor any swans, cygnets and other wildlife in general. Doing a race piece / sparring on an outing is not an acceptable excuse to row through a family of swans. Regards. This is due to the river silting up and as a result they are unable to follow normal navigation safely, so they may be much farther in to the middle of the river than you might expect. The Conservators have been made aware of the issue, but as yet have not been able to tackle it. Please ensure coxes and steerspeople are aware and can react accordingly to avoid any undue angst. Thanks, Conor -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
