Dear college coxes and captains,

A brief reminder of the talk on Monday at 7:30pm. It should be very useful
to anyone planning to race the Tideway Heads in a few weeks.

I can (finally - sorry!) confirm that the talk will take place in Emmanuel
college in the Queens Building Lecture Theatre. It is signposted from the
Emma plodge, but I'll also be hanging around from 7:20 or so to guide
anyone lost-looking. Just keep an eye out for the scruffy looking one with
long hair and a coxing jacket...

Dear Coxes and Captains,

A final reminder (now bumps are over!) for those of you planning to race
WEHoRR or ManHoRR:

There will be a talk tonight at Emmanuel College in the Queen's Building
Lecture Theatre. Ro is aiming to start at 7:30pm. I'll be at the Emma
plodge from about 7:20 to look for lost people. She will be discussing both
how to cope with the navigation rules for marshalling on Tideway, and also
how to get the very best out of the stream when racing.

Drop me a note if there are any questions, otherwise I'll hope to see some
of you there.

March 16, 2017 is YOUR day. It is THE day of the (rowing) year where everything is turned upside down. It is that day of the year where even Cardinals start dancing on their head (in fact, they already are, see picture). It is the day where YOU take over (it?s not as if you were not already in command in every single outing).

Catz Cardinals is the opportunity for you to either keep your seat and go crazy on your calls or seize one of the rowing seats and finally see that side of the river which you?ve never seen before!

Dear Cambridge coxes,

 Would you like to do some coxing over the holidays? Feeling bored with
nothing but work/labs/holidaying in Cambridge? Christ's College Boat
Club is planning to do some oar-some outings, and it looks like we have
enough people to do a morning outing a day (finishes in time for any
9ams). These boats will be filled with people who have been rowing for
at least two terms (so the boats should be reasonable). However, we have
a distinct lack of coxes...

 Therefore if you have been coxing for at least two terms (or possibly
one term - still ask), and are interested in coxing some good rowing
outings, please do email me on rwm41 (@cam.ac.uk).

 Most outings will also have a bank party as well, and there is a wealth
of coxing experience in the bank party and in the boat (there are a
number of coxes who would much rather be rowing), so you will also get
really good feedback about your coxing as well (coxes over the Christmas
break commented on how useful this was)!

Dear all,

Some of you have inquired about river closure and the possibility to raw through tomorrow. Here are some clarifications. The river will be closed between 10:30am and 4:30pm. However, as per the race management plan attached, rowing through will be permitted between divisions (please see point #6 under ?Emergencies and Safety?). In essence, should you wish to row through, please follow the following guidelines:
- For boats rowing downstream, please report to the Marshal stationed at the Green Dragon footbridge who will provide the relevant instructions and let you through once a division is over.
- For boats rowing upstream, please report to Marshal stationed at the Plough Reach and wait for instructions. Rowing through will be allowed once a division is over.

For your information, here are the division times:
AM
- 10:30 (5 races - 10 boats)
- 11:15 (4 races - 8 boats)
- 11:45 (4 races - 8 boats)

PM
- 12:15 (2 races - 4 boats)
- 12:45 (2 races - 4 boats)
- 1:15 (2 races - 4 boats)
- 1:40 (1 race - 2 boats)
- 2:30pm (5 races - 10 boats)
- 3:15 (2 races - 4 boats)
- 3:45 (2 races - 4 boats)
