[CUCBC Coxes] Early mornings and overtaking

Dear coxes,

There were a number of near misses between college and town crews/singles
this morning.

In each case, crews had pulled out to overtake or gone wide round blind
turns, presumably on the assumption that since it was only just past
lighting down, there couldn't possibly be anything coming the other way yet.

As a reminder, you should *never* assume there's nothing coming and
overtake on the wrong side when unable to see. In the context of early
mornings, there may well be narrow boats on the water heading into
Cambridge, or CRA crews who are not bound by CUCBC rules regarding hours of
darkness. Nor is it impossible to meet a college crew returning after
suffering equipment failure 5 minutes into their own outing.

Please don't wreck not one but two shells in the pursuit of an overtake a
few seconds earlier, but wait till you or your bank party can confirm it's
safe to come by.

Many thanks,

Robert
