We will be holding a 'Summer Camp' for all college rowers in Cambridge but are currently short on coxes. You can cox for us solely for the Summer or with a view to stay on in the club. Any college coxes who are in Cambridge over the Summer and are interested please contact: dmh52 at cam.ac.uk Thanks, Danny Houslay (DarwinCBC Men's Captain) From kc428 at cam.ac.uk Thu Jul 5 16:26:45 2012 From: kc428 at cam.ac.uk (Kate Campbell) Date: Thu, 05 Jul 2012 17:26:45 +0100 Subject: [CUCBC Coxes] Darwin looking for a cox Message-ID: <4FF5C045.5070403@cam.ac.uk> Hi coxes, My name is Kate and I'm vice captain for Darwin women's rowing team. As everyone knows, the availability of rowers drops over the summers hols, but fortunately (coz we're old, cranky postgraduates!) Darwin still have enough crew (given we'll be mixed) to sustain outings over the next few weeks...unfortunately though, our coxes have either retired or gone on holiday. If any of you are available for the foreseeable future to join us on our outings (even if only for next week for example) we would be incredibly grateful! If you are interested, please let me know as soon as possible. Message-ID: Hi All, I am Elisabeth, the St Radegund W1 boat captain - we row in the second women's division (gun at 17.45) and we are desperately looking for an experienced bumps cox as we lost our designated bumps cox to a new job. We are a dedicated, enthusiastic and disciplined crew (we did WEHoRR in March) and need someone ballsy, calm and inspirational in our cox seat next week, every day from the 17th to the 20th, from 16.45. Please get back to elisabeth.winkelmann at googlemail.com if you are interested, or know anyone who might be. Presents of booze or an all home made tea party (inc. sandwiches, cake and scones) for whoever volunteers or finds us our cox. Thank you! We plan to race all/some of Peterborough, Sudbury and Oxford City regattas plus associated training outings. If you're looking for some extra coxing before you restart term please get in touch, we'd be pleased to hear from you and hopefully can reward you with pottage and alcohol... Longer term if you are not planning to cox for your college this year but would like to get involved with a town club then please let me know. This year (along with various regatta wins) CCRC men pre-qualified for Henley, and made it through the first round. Our women made it to the semi-finals at HWR. Next year we are looking to step on and, on the men's side, we would like to send 2 boats to HRR. We also have many boats competing at local level and can offer you coaching to develop your coxing skills.
