[CUCBC Coxes] Dangerous coxing

Dear Coxes,

At this time of the year, it is understandable that crews are going to be
going full tilt up the bumps course. It is especially important that safety
is kept as top priority.

In particular, be prepared to stop if necessary and at short notice. If you
are doing a racing piece, it doesn't give you right of rule on the river and
you should expect the possibility that you won't be able to complete your
piece.

Similarly, please be vigilant to what is happening around you if you are
trying to build a gap to do your piece. Please avoid getting in the way of
other crews doing pieces.

Finally, remember to follow the protocols at the crossover points - crew
going upstream has got right of way, if needs be, easy and let the crew
going upstream come past.

Thanks,

Mark
