Thursday’s start order is attached.
Notes from the Umpires:
There were a lot of fines today for crews not arriving at Chesterton on time.
In one case we had a women's crew still not pulled in at Chesterton when a
men's crew racing to Top Finish was coming past Morley's Holt. Particularly if
the rain continues and the current gets stronger, it can take longer than you
think to get pulled in when most of the bank is already taken up by marshalled
crews. I had to stop a division in exactly these circumstances two years ago
and would like to avoid that happening again. If you're worried about getting
cold or wet, bring extra kit.
Please tell your bank parties to be careful when disposing of poles after
pushing boats off - remember that umpires and other bank parties will be
cycling along the towpath.
On a positive note, I haven't heard any complaints about litter being left on
the towpath or about people urinating in public. Let's keep it that way.
