***This message is for all crews competing in the Fairbairn Cup***

As you may be aware, the weather forecast for tomorrow is cold with the
possibility of rain in the morning. It is therefore important that all
competing crews bring sufficient warm and dry kit to wear when marshalling,
particularly at the finish (kit in the bottom of the boat is best placed in
a plastic bag to keep it dry).

Space blankets will be available for competitors to collect from Jesus
Boathouse all through the day. These should be collected prior to racing and
carried by bank parties (or in the boat) to use after racing.

There is the possibility of strong gusts of wind - it is very important that
crews are aware of this. Racing will most likely go ahead, but crews and
bank parties must be vigilant and responsive to all instructions from
marshals, particularly when marshalling at the start.

You are also reminded that race numbers can be collected from Jesus
Boathouse. There is one pack per club containing all their numbers - this
should be collected at least 45 minutes before a club's first race (for most
clubs this means collection by 0830 tomorrow). All crews must marshal on
time - the top 10 crews 30 minutes before a division's published start time
and the rest 20 minutes before.

There is to be no warm-up or practice paddling on the water - the river
closes at 0815. Competing crews must warm up on land prior to boating.

I'm looking forward to a couple of day's good racing!

Dan
