<div dir="ltr">Dear all,<div><br></div><div>Following on from Matthew's earlier email, the Jetty under the Railway Bridge closed today, ready for the piling works to start next week. Please ensure that all of your crews (and in particular any singles / doubles / pairs / coxless IVs and Quads) are aware that during these piling works there will likely be a barge under the railway bridge blocking up to half of its span. We expect there to be someone on duty to assist with river traffic whenever the barge is in place, as it will only be wide enough for one boat at a time. <p style="line-height:140%;color:#333333;font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;font-size:16px;text-align:left;margin:10px 0 20px" align="left">We would like to update you on Chisholm Trail, a mostly off road north-south strategic foot and cycleway through Cambridge and plans for the Abbey-Chesterton bridge. Phase One, which will open up private green areas and link Stourbridge and Coldham’s Commons is currently under construction.</p>
<p style="line-height:140%;color:#333333;font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;font-size:16px;text-align:left;margin:10px 0 20px" align="left">As you will be aware from our previous message, the jetty under the railway bridge will be closed from today through to Summer 2020. Works also involve the partial closure of the river and, potentially, full closure of the river to all access for short periods. These closures are needed in order to create a safe working environment for piling and construction of the bridge base as well as replacement of the jetty. Works will involve heavy machinery and some noise is anticipated.</p>
<p style="line-height:140%;color:#333333;font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;font-size:16px;text-align:left;margin:10px 0 20px" align="left">We can now confirm that piling works will take place from 19 August until October. Works will only take place during the day time 08:00-18:00 from Monday to Friday. Please note that the piling works will not be continuous through this period. Works noise and vibration will be closely monitored throughout construction to ensure they do not breach acceptable limits. Nearby residents are being informed of the piling works by letter. </p>
