The river meanders its way 12 miles from Granchester Meadows to Bottisham lock. Every year Camboaters, </SPAN><SPAN class=ec484543818-16022009><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt; FONT-FAMILY: 'Gill Sans MT'">'Anglian Water's RiverCare' alongside Cambridge City Council and the Cam Conservancy</SPAN></SPAN><STRONG><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt; FONT-FAMILY: 'Gill Sans MT'"> </SPAN></STRONG></FONT><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 11pt; FONT-FAMILY: 'Gill Sans MT'"><FONT color=#000000>organise the Great Cam Clean Up. They invite you to take part in this most excellent opportunity to give this much-loved river a helping hand, by participating in a river clean up. The Great Cam Clean Up is the perfect excuse to get out there and do something for our fine City, as well as expressing your environmental ethic and collective love of rivers and wildlife. <BR><BR>This year the 5th Great Cam Clean Up will officially be opened by The Mayor of Cambridge, Councillor Mike Dixon and will take place on Saturday the 25th of April, commencing at 10:00am at The Fort St George, Midsummer Common and winding up with a Barbeque for all volunteers. <BR><BR>Last year more than 170 volunteers collected over 400 bags of recyclable and general rubbish from the river and its banks. Hard working grapple teams recovered a whopping 100 bikes from the riverbed and three motorised scooters were retrieved from Stourbridge Common.
