Dear all,

* Captains please forward this message to all small boats users in your club *

Whilst CUCBC does not set the flag outside term time, please remember that all other CUCBC rules (except where explicitly exempted) continue to apply. In particular, solid (i.e. non-flashing) white lights visible through 360 degrees are required with 15 minutes of lighting down and lighting up, and (particularly relevant this week) at all times when visibility is reduced, such as when it’s foggy or very wet. If in doubt, fit lights anyway.

Please ensure lights have fresh batteries / are fully charged, particularly when it’s cold as their batteries don’t last as long.

You may additionally wish to fit a non-flashing red light at the stern (never at the bows) to assist other crews with determining your direction of travel.

Best wishes,
Conor
