<div class="pre" style="margin: 0; padding: 0; font-family: monospace">As many of you will be aware, CUWBC, CULRC and CUCBC have now merged into a single 'Cambridge University Boat Club'.</div>

<div class="pre" style="margin: 0; padding: 0; font-family: monospace">We need to update some phrases in our constitution and rule-book to reflect this merger. The proposed changes detailed below are intended to be purely cosmetic (mostly replacing '<span>CUBC, CUWBC and the CULRC' with 'the University Boat Club') and so should (I hope) be able to be agreed with a single vote (i.e. not clause-by-clause). </span>The proposed changes to the Constitution have already been approved by the Senior Committee prior to being put to a vote of Captains, as required by Section 19 of our Constitution <a href="https://www.cucbc.org/handbook/constitution#19">here</a>. </div>

<div class="pre" style="padding-left: 40px;"><span>CUCBC <a href="https://www.cucbc.org/handbook/constitution">constitution</a>:</span><br /><br /><span>Change 3. from</span><br /><span>That the CUCBC shall be composed of the Captains of each of the</span><br /><span>constituent College Men's and Women's Boat Clubs together with the</span><br /><span>Presidents and Vice-Presidents of the three University Clubs, the</span><br /><span>Honorary Secretary, the Coxswains' Representative and the Honorary</span><br /><span>Secretaries of each of the CUBC, CUWBC and the CULRC.</span><br /><br /><span>To</span><br /><span>That the CUCBC shall be composed of the Captains of each of the</span><br /><span>constituent College Men's and Women's Boat Clubs together with the four</span><br /><span>Presidents and four Vice-Presidents of the University Boat Club, the</span><br /><span>Honorary Secretary, the Coxswains' Representative, and the two Student</span><br /><span>Secretaries of the University Boat Club.</span><br /><br /><span>Change 5.c. (That the officers of CUCBC shall be:) from</span><br /><span>One bona fide in statu pupillari member from each of the CUBC, CUWBC and</span><br /><span>CULRC. This would currently be the Honorary Secretary of each of these</span><br /><span>clubs but this could be changed by a duly convened meeting of the</span><br /><span>individual clubs.</span><br /><br /><span>To</span><br /><span>One bona fide in statu pupillari member from the University Boat Club.</span><br /><span>This would currently be the CUBC Adminstrative Secretary, but this could be</span><br /><span>changed by a duly convened meeting of the University Boat Club.</span><br /><br /><span>Change 6.a. from</span><br /><span>That there be an Executive Committee comprising of the Chairman, the</span><br /><span>Honorary Secretary, the Coxswains' Representative and the Honorary</span><br /><span>Secretaries of CUBC, CUWBC and CULRC. This Committee shall have</span><br /><span>responsibility for organising College rowing on the Cam and shall be led</span><br /><span>by the Honorary Secretary who is responsible for the day-to-day</span><br /><span>administration of the committee, College rowing on the River Cam and the</span><br /><span>organisation of races by the CUCBC.</span><br /><br /><span>To</span><br /><span>That there be an Executive Committee comprising of the Chairman, the</span><br /><span>CUCBC Honorary Secretary, the Coxswains' Representative and the two</span><br /><span>Student Secretaries of the University Boat Club. This Committee shall</span><br /><span>have responsibility for organising College rowing on the Cam and shall</span><br /><span>be led by the CUCBC Honorary Secretary who is responsible for the</span><br /><span>day-to-day administration of the committee, College rowing on the River</span><br /><span>Cam and the organisation of races by the CUCBC.</span><br /><br /><span>Change 8. From</span><br /><span>That there shall be a general meeting of the CUCBC during the first two</span><br /><span>weeks of each term to which all members shall be invited. The meeting at</span><br /><span>the beginning of the Michaelmas term shall be an Annual General Meeting</span><br /><span>at which the accounts for the previous years shall be presented and</span><br /><span>approved and the names of the Officers who shall have been elected by</span><br /><span>the respective clubs or appointed to the Senior Committee shall be</span><br /><span>announced and approved.</span><br /><br /><span>To</span><br /><span>That there shall be a general meeting of the CUCBC during the first two</span><br /><span>weeks of each term to which all members shall be invited. The meeting at</span><br /><span>the beginning of the Michaelmas term shall be an Annual General Meeting</span><br /><span>at which the accounts for the previous years shall be presented and</span><br /><span>approved and the names of the Officers who have been elected or</span><br /><span>appointed shall be announced and approved.</span><br /><br /><span>CUCBC <a href="https://www.cucbc.org/handbook/rules/rights_of_way">Rules of the River</a>:</span></div>

<div class="pre" style="padding-left: 40px;"><br /><span>Change 21.b. from</span><br /><span>That no person who has rowed in, steered or been a reserve for any of</span><br /><span>the CUBC, CUWBC or CULRC crews may row or steer respectively below</span><br /><span>his/her College third May Boat without the permission of the</span><br /><span>Hon. Secretaries, which shall normally be given only in the case of</span><br /><span>accident or illness.</span><br /><br /><span>To</span><br /><span>That no person who has rowed in, steered or been a reserve for any of</span><br /><span>the University crews may row or steer respectively below his/her College</span><br /><span>third May Boat without the permission of the Executive Committee, which</span><br /><span>shall normally be given only in the case of accident or illness.</span><br /><br /><span>Change 28. from</span><br /><span>That no person who has gained first Lent or May Colours or a Trial Cap,</span><br /><span>or who has rowed in, steered or been a reserve for any of the CUBC,</span><br /><span>CUWBC or CULRC crews may row or steer in the Getting-on Race UNLESS the</span><br /><span>Getting-on Race crew concerned is the Club's second or third crew.</span><br /><br /><span>To</span><br /><span>That no person who has gained first Lent or May Colours or a Trial Cap,</span><br /><span>or who has rowed in, steered or been a reserve for any of the University</span><br /><span>crews may row or steer in the Getting-on Race UNLESS the Getting-on Race</span><br /><span>crew concerned is the Club's second or third crew.</span></div>

<div class="pre" style="margin: 0; padding: 0; font-family: monospace">The King's Women's Captain is proposing a change to <a href="https://www.cucbc.org/handbook/rules/restrictions#13">Rule 13 of the rules of the river</a>, to account for the increased use of tubs this year and to try and reduce instances of tubs spinning in places where bigger boats do not expect them to be doing so.</div>
