Dear Captains<div><br></div><div>I find myself in the unfortunate situation of having to write this email following events that unfolded yesterday.</div><div><br></div><div>Yesterday
we discovered that a club competing completely disregarded a decision
made by CUCBC and used an illegal crew member in the Getting-on Race
with full knowledge that this was not permitted. They had been in
discussions with us about this crew member and we had been incredibly
clear in our decision.</div>
<div><br></div><div>To make matters far worse their club officers tried
to lie and cover up that this breach of the rules had taken place.
However we had significant photographic evidence available, which
allowed us to discover this.</div>
<div><br></div><div>It is for these actions of breaking the rules and
most importantly attempting to conceal this fact, that the crew in
question has been disqualified from racing this week. These actions very
nearly caused their entire club to be disqualified from racing in the
Lents.</div>
<div><br></div><div>This is a warning to you all that unsporting behaviour and dishonesty<b> <i><u>will not be tolerated</u></i></b>
in the slightest by CUCBC and the Chief Umpires for this Bumps and any
future Bumps. The penalties for false declarations will be swift and
severe no matter what stage of the week's racing we are at.</div>
