*Captains please forward this message to any members of your club who may be interested in umpiring*

Dear all

There are only a few weeks before the start of the Lent Bumps (26th Feb - 2nd March) this term and we are looking to recruit umpires for this year's racing.

Umpiring is a great way to get involved in the racing and you get the chance to be right at the centre of the action either cycling with crews or acting as a static umpire along the course. As a thankyou for your time, all umpires will be offred a free dinner (probably the week after bumps). Also umpires count towards their college's marshal allocation.

To help you don't need to have umpired before, but we do ask that you have rowed or coxed in at least 2 sets of bumps before so that you are aware of how the races work. There will be a meeting for all umpires ahead of racing where we all explain everything and all new umpires are paired with a 'senior' during racing.

The umpires meeting is currently scheduled for Sunday 24th February @ 17:30 in Robinson College Umney Theatre and should last about half an hour.

If you would like to help out please sign up at:

http://www.cucbc.org/lents/umpires/signup

Please indicate which divisions you are available for. You can both compete and umpire but please don't sign up for a division that you are competing in (as a guide leave 1 division either side as well to let you get to/from the boathouses).

Division times are available here.

If you have any questions, please do get in touch with me.

We wouldn't be able to run the bumps without the help of umpires so many thanks in advance!
