Failure to do so puts your own cox in danger. Coxes should ensure they are clear on how and when to conceed the bump (e.g. holding a hand up-and-out, opposite to the side the bumping crew is approaching on). - Please remind bank parties that handheld filming is not allowed. They must use a handlebar mount, helmet mount or similar if they would like to film the races whilst cycling. - Bank parties are strictly limited to four cyclists. - Please ensure that bank parties are quick and reactive in pulling boats in once they've bumped out - umpires are not here to save your bow balls. - If clearing, especially to the inside of a corner, please pull in and bury blades for racing crews. Make sure your stern does not drift out into the racing line at any point. - Thank you to all umpires and marshals for your time today. Please continue to ensure marshals are briefed ahead of turning up. *Fines* - Darwin M1 - Illegal practice start - ?40 - Downing W2 - Overshooting marshalling - Bring a sat nav tomorrow - Clare Hall M1 - Late holding it up - ?30 - Clare Hall M1 - Early Celebration - ?20 - Corpus Christi M1 - Public Urination - ?75 - Corpus Christi M1 - Public Urination (in addition to the above) - ?75 - Corpus Christi M2 - Public Urination - ?75 - Emmanuel - No marshal supplied by club (First offence) - ?15 - Emmanuel W3 - Handheld Filming - ?30 - Emmanuel M2 - Excessive Bank party - ?30 - Jesus W2 - Handheld Filming - ?30 - Kings W1 - Foul language - ?30 - Magdalene - Late to Marshalling - Warning - Magdalene M2 - Not following Marshal's instructions - Warning - Magdalene W2 - Failure to row on - ?45 - Murray Edwards W1 - Dropped Bung, no advantage - ?15 - Peterhouse W2 - Rescuing a stray dog (called Lady) from the towpath - Commendation, and a plate of meatballs - Sidney M1 - Failure to follow Marshalling instructions - ?20 - Wolfson M1 - Foul and Abusive language - ?50 - Wolfson M1 - Failure to Hold it up - ?45 Fines can be appealed by e-mailing Dr Dan Wilkins, CUCBC Senior Treasurer ( seniortreasurer at cucbc.org) within 48 hours of this email being sent. This message will also be shared with town clubs (*cough*Cantabs). Let's be the better river-users here. As noted several times last term, we hope that your crews know to take responsibility in this kind of circumstance; if you are able to respond to Peter as below then please do. As a starting point, can the clubs please advise me of the protocols/policy > they have for 'incident' reporting and did any rower or coach or event > organiser/marshal file an incident during that time period for my boat. Many thanks CUCBC ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Camboats of Cambridge, River Tours - Private Cruises < camboats at hotmail.co.uk> Date: Mon, 27 Mar 2023 at 21:38 Subject: Further vessel damage - Between 18th March and 26th March 2023 Formal Incident Report Dear all It is with much regret I have to raise the issue of vessel damage again. Please see attached files with clearly identifiable (multiple) blade scrapes along the length of Tiger Lily's hull, moored at The Plough (still without an engine, this boat has not moved). As outlined previously, this vessel had a full out of water professional repaint last year and has had the hull blacking touched up this year whilst in dry dock. The damage occurred during the time period given in the email title. If the offending party(ies) would like to make contact we can have a conversation. If those involved do not own up, then I will spend my time and trawl through the CCTV footage for that time period to identify the rower(s) concerned. It is not likely to be the race participants during that time period, as I was either present or marshals were present on that stretch of river, but will review all CCTV to be sure of those involved in the damage. As a starting point, can the clubs please advise me of the protocols/policy they have for 'incident' reporting and did any rower or coach or event organiser/marshal file an incident during that time period for my boat. Someone mentioned to me that this is akin to 'Criminal Damage'. As an analogy, it is like someone wandering down the street 'keying' the paintwork of cars - I'm sure if that was your car you would be very indignant indeed ! I am loath to go down such a formal legal route - but this must stop. It is a shame that just a few individuals can tar the reputation of the generally healthy relationship between river users groups. Let us see if those concerned are prepared to take ownership of their actions. I would appreciate the support of the clubs in this matter. Regards Mr P Watson River User and Vessel Owner *David RPO - This is a formal 'incident' report* PS - I do have a good idea of when at least one set of contact was made, as I overheard a 'coach' saying to a double "Keep Rowing" !! ------- Cat Darsley (she/her) CUCBC Hon Sec 2022-2023 -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... The deadline for entries to the SBR, including payment, is *12th Apr 2023 at 12:00pm*. Entry Fees are ?6 for the Peter Brandt and Maiden Sculls, ?10 for all other single scull races and ?16 per double or pair. Entry fees can be paid by bank transfer only (Account name: Cambridge University Combined Boat Club; Account number: 00008487; Sort code: 72-00-06). Please use a sensible payment reference that will allow us to match your payment to your college/entry. Please note that competing crews will be expected to provide marshals (via their clubs) to ensure the smooth and safe running of races. Failure to provide marshals as required will result in the automatic scratching/disqualification of the relevant competing crew. More specific details will be available once we have a list of entries and are able to put together a racing timetable.
