Dear Captains, Boatmen and Coxes,

We have received reports over the last couple weeks of members of the
public on the bank firing projectiles at boats and bank parties. Most
recently this has been reported as slingshots at Grassy Corner, but in
previous years has included items being thrown from the bridge between
Christs and LMBC.

Please be vigilant in these areas and, if you are victim to actions by
members of the public, seek to de-escalate then report exactly what
happened, when and where. If you are in danger, call the police emergency
line.

We are sorry to have to convey such stark news to you, however it is
important you keep yourselves and your crews safe, and we ask your help in
doing this by contacting Cam Conservancy ( rpo at camconservators.org.uk )
and/or the police 999, so a case can be built up.
We can support you in making reports to CamCon and/or giving advice, but If
you are put in danger or if any individuals are possessing weapons please
call police emergency.

*Captains, please circulate this information to those rowing in the SBR*

Dear all,

The draw for the SBR has been carried out, and is available here
<http://cucbc.org/regatta/29>. This is also where results (including times)
will be updated.

Information for competitors along with more accessible racing timetables
have been attached as a PDF.

The scheduling has been organised to strictly:
 - Take into account unavailability emailed in.
 - Provide at least one division clear between the same person racing in
different categories.
 - Not have two rowers compete that have raced different numbers of races
in that category that day.
Other preferences regarding the scheduling have also been taken into account

This has naturally been a bit of a behemoth of an optimisation problem, and
so forgive me if there are mistakes/issues. Please just send in any
concerns as soon as possible and we will see what we can do to ameliorate
the situation.

Umpiring requirements will be circulated to Captains soon.

The SBR will see the river generally closed to CUCBC crews between
Baitsbite and the Railway Bridge between 14:30 and 17:00/17:15/16:40 Monday
24-Wednesday 26 April, respectively. If you would like an outing during the
SBR and are eligible to go over the lock, we are accepting row-throughs at
the following times:

Monday: At the Railway Bridge/Baitsbite by: 14:55, 15:40, 16:10
Tuesday: At the Railway Bridge/Baitsbite by: 15:05, 15:40, 16:25
Wednesday: At the Railway Bridge/Baitsbite by: 14:55, 15:30, 16:05

Please do let us know if you wish to row through.

We ask that while rowing through, you row full crew, full slide, with no
stopping.

Sorry for the slow reply.

Is it that Olivia can't row at all that day, or would the fourth division
that day work? Any changes would have to be agreed by all those racing. I
would rather not change the day if possible since this race requires the
setting up of three start and finish points.

*Captains, please circulate this to your competitors*

Dear all,

Please see attached an up-to-date version of the information for
competitors.

Please note additionally:
 - Starts will be signalled by an air horn.
 - Finishes will be signalled by whistles.
 - For the non-novice races, you may only overtake if the umpire explicitly
allows you to.
 - In the cases of the three-way races, if the umpire believes obstruction
could have altered the winner of the race then a re-row may be issued with
a re-ordering of crews.
 - In any case, finishes within a second (between the fastest two crews at
a minimum in the case for three-way races) will result in a re-row.

We will endeavour to update the website with results and times as soon as
possible after racing. Winners of the following races can collect medals
from First and Third Trinity Boathouse between 18:00 and 19:00 on any of
the days of racing: Lowe Double Sculls (all); Colquhoun Sculls; Fairbairn
Junior Sculls (men only); Magdalene Silver Pairs (men only);
Foster-Fairbairn Pairs (men only).

A proposal to amend Rule 2b of the Early Morning Traffic Restrictions

today's meeting.
