Dear Maisie, Dear Captains-

Many thanks for your email representation regarding this,
The CUCBC Committees have been actively discussing the practicalities of
this since Tuesday, and both the Senior and Executive Committees think in
principle this is a good idea.
Several boatmen have raised the same suggestion as you and other captains
have done, and it is pleasing to see we have a majority agreement.
At the start of the week, we were concerned about a duty of CUCBC
undergoing due diligence upon charities we could donate to- we're now aware
that the University have given suggestions of appropriate causes to donate
to ( https://www.cam.ac.uk/ukraine#group-section-How-you-can-help-clgF1Rjnds )
so we will donate any proceeds from fines towards all these endeavours.

CUCBC fines are designed to ensure adherence towards the rules and promote
safety and smooth running of events- *not *to make money- which is the
reason why our position was not released earlier.
We would encourage those wishing to contribute further to do so on an
individual and/or collegiate club level.

Please do contact us at committee at cucbc.org if you have concerns regarding
this position, however given the support of over 50% of clubs, and both the
Exec and Senior Committee, we are confident there is a majority support for
this.

With Kind regards,
Lee

Limeng Zhu
CUCBC Exec,
On Behalf of the CUCBC Executive and Senior Committees.
