In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: Hi all, Thanks very much to everyone who updated their contact details and confirmed by email. Fortunately, Dan (our Senior Treasurer, but more relevantly in this case also our webmaster) has managed to convince Google that CUCBC is not a business, and as such it looks like we should be able to continue using the Google Mail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc. in the way that we currently do without incurring completely unsustainable fees. However, your efforts are not in vain, as we would have been nagging you to update the details on the CUCBC website at the start of Michaelmas anyway. For anyone who hasn?t done so already, you now have a few extra months to get it all up to date (but if you don?t do it now, will you do it at all? :)). I hope you enjoy the rest of the summer vacation. Please could one person from each club reply to this email when you?ve confirmed your details are up to date. > > Thanks, > Conor -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... As such, they may be more difficult to overtake. However, please remind all of your crews and small boats (and in particular the latter) not to overtake on the ?inside? (meaning overtaking between the boat and the bank it should be nearest to). This is because by doing so, you place that vessel in a very difficult situation should there be another boat coming the other way whereby they are both obliged to move out of the way of that boat and to avoid colliding with you. Instead, you should always overtake on the ?wrong? side of the river, asking the powered vessel if it is clear to come by if you are unable to make that assessment yourself (they almost certainly have a better view than you do, and they should be able to temporarily move closer to the bank they should be nearest to to give you more room to overtake safely). Additionally, coaching from the bank is not permitted above the Railway Bridge before 07:30. Thank you for your cooperation on this - it?s important that we remain considerate and respectful of other river users and nearby residents, so as not to give the council any reason to step in with a much more heavy handed approach!
