Dear all,
We are delighted to announce that the X-Press Boat Club "Bumps" Head Race
will take place on the evening of Tuesday 8th June 2021.

In previous years the race was ideal preparation for the Mays, as it
offered crews the chance to row the uninterrupted "course". There are no
May Bumps this year; but it means that the XP Head will be one of the few
chances to measure your speed against your nearest rivals. Where practical
we will set crews off in the bumps starting order, and after the race we
will produce a virtual bumps chart based on the average speed of each crew,
to see what might have happened; but you will have to wait until 2022 to do
it for real!

The course will be upstream of the A14 bridge, to the metal seat near the
bus stop at the P&E (approx. 2,100m). Divisions starting at 7pm and 8:20pm.

We expect that most entries will be in eights, but we will also accept
entries from coxed fours:

   - Medals awarded in the following categories: college Men’s and Women’s
   crews – Mays 1st, 2nd, 3rd and lower.
   - A club which enters at least one Men’s and one Women’s crew will be
eligible to compete for the John Dent Trophy, awarded to the club with the
   best two-boat combined time.
   - Medals for the best line around Grassy Corner.
   - Complimentary racing photos.
   - Results announced virtually, and prizes distributed the following day
   by arrangement.

Entry fee £64 for eights and £32 for fours (if paid in advance).
