Dear Colleges,
Hope you are doing well and adapting to the new norms!
CUBC women are hosting development squad ergos online this term to fit in
with current restrictions. Dev squad is aimed at current Cambridge students
that wish to trial next year for the Boat race squad. To take part there is
a minimum ergo standard just to ensure dev squad athletes are realistic
future candidates for the Boat Race.
These standards are: Openweight women 2k sub 7:44 and Lightweight women 2k
sub 8. Alternatively a 1k rate capped at 24 would work as a test of
fitness/power and the scores should be half that of the 2k free rate
(3:52/4:00).
To take part athletes will need an ergo, headphones, and a way to use zoom
(so phone/laptop with internet access) so coaches can see them rowing and
provide feedback.
Sessions will be every other Thursday at 4pm and 5pm, starting this
Thursday 15th October and athletes need to sign up here.

There
are limited numbers to allow for a decent amount of feedback so please
limit to two sessions per athlete this term, unless there is still space
available the day before in which case athletes can attend more. If it is
oversubscribed I'll add more sessions.
Coxes interested in trialling can also join the sessions and listen to
technical feedback given to athletes. Just send me an email with name,
college, experience level and why you want to trial next year.
Best wishes
