Addenbrooke's boat club sadly has had to scrap its only boat, and so for the upcoming academic year are looking to come to an agreement with another club for boat hire. If your club anticipates having an 8 it will be able to rent out to us (for the main purposes of rowing Lents and Mays), please do get in touch to discuss rates - it would be highly appreciated. Thanks, Will Smith Captain, Addenbrooke's Boat Club -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... The full schedule is outlined here:?https://content.govdelivery.com/accounts/UKGCP/bulletins/2959e8d The River Manager has kindly provided some additional details: ? The river will definitely be open at weekends ? The towpath will be open throughout, so you can climb out and walk your boat past the full river closure if you?d like to go out during them. ? The daytime closures are from 8am to 6pm. ? Outside the daytime closures, the river may still be obstructed so much that it?d be difficult to fit a single past (the pontoon is 3m wider than the one they used for the piling). You could still walk your boat around if this is the case. Best wishes, Conor -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Due to the very low river traffic and flow, there?s quite a lot of weed along the banks, so their electric cruiser is having to stick closer to the middle of the river. Whilst their skippers are briefed to keep a good lookout and warn approaching scullers, please ensure you also keep a good lookout and steer around them if needs be. Tom (River Manager) also adds that CamCons are doing as much as they can to stay on top of the weed - with the recent weather and the lack of VIIIs churning it up, they?ve certainly got their work cut out! Please see the below message if you haven?t already received it directly. CUCBC?s advice to college clubs remains the same - please do not rush into any changes (you?ll note words such as ?cautiously? and ?reversible? are used heavily in the email below!), and make sure you?re working with boathouse staff and college authorities to develop plans which implement the British Rowing advice, as well as incorporating any extra measures required by your college or specific to your boathouse. Please do not proceed with the implementation of any plans until your college authorities have been consulted and signed off on them. For this reason, we are cautiously continuing with our move to Phase D as planned on 1 August. > We would remind clubs of the importance of following both the Government and our advice to keep rowing clubs COVID-Secure. Given the speed of Government announcements in recent days, we also remind clubs that it is vital that their plans are easily reversible so that they are able to respond to any changes at a national or local level quickly. > With the implementation of new local restrictions in a number of areas, clubs should ensure that they adhere to any restrictions that apply to them based on their location. Clubs should also bear in mind that even where they are not in an area with local restrictions, they may have members living in areas with restrictions. With this in mind, clubs may wish to remind these members that they need to follow the local restrictions, which may mean they can?t attend the rowing club. > We will continue to review the situation and may choose to delay the implementation of phases E and F (or even move to a previous phase) if further advice follows from the Government that necessitates this. > Our guidance has been updated (to version 5.1) to reflect the move to phase D as of 1 August and is available via the link below. > > View the advice on the British Rowing website >> > > > > > > Update your email preferences. > Don't want these emails anymore?
