Despite our infinite love for the freezing Cam of the first week of January we would like to go away on camp next year so were wondering if another college would like to pair up? If you have spare space on your trailer for our boats we could share the price of bringing the boats down or I am sure that we could come to some kind of arrangement to share the same boats and have one training session each in both the morning and the afternoon. I know it is still a long way away and you might not have started thinking about it yet, but our other option would be to just organise our own camp, but starting from nothing we'd have to start looking quite early! Let me know if you could be interrested (let's be honest, who wouldn't want to go on camp with Newnham?!) and we can discuss it further :) Have a great summer! As you know we are running our annual summer rowing event this week. We are hoping to culminate on Saturday with some short races on the reach prior to a Barbecue back in Darwin College Gardens. At the moment we are looking for the most suitable time at which we could hold these races. If any of your clubs have any trips planned for Saturday I'd be really grateful if you could indicate the time(s) at which you intend to be on the water. I know this Saturday is Oxford regatta so that should limit the numbers on the Cam but any indications you can give me would be really helpful. Kindest regards, D. I know some other colleges have been doing a similar thing, and we were wondering if you'd be also be interested in racing? We could request our own sub division for college summer boats in the regatta, just for a bit of friendly competition, and perhaps we could organise a post race drinks/dinner/etc? If you'd be interested please contact Krit who is organising our boat at ks559 at cam.ac.uk. Cheers, Rachel -- Rachel Franks Captain of Boats Downing College Boat Club 07870379375 rcf42 at cam.ac.uk
