[CUCBC Captains] Events on the River Cam this week, 29/30 November & 1 December 2012

Dear river users

 

Please be aware of the following events affecting the Cam navigation this
week:

 

Thursday 29th and Friday 30th November

 

The annual Fairbairn Cup Races (organisers Jesus College Boat Club) will be
taking place between 09:00 hr and dusk, course Baits Bite Lock to Chesterton
footbridge. Navigators are kindly asked to observe the race marshals'
instructions and heed their warnings to wait for an appropriate time slot
before proceeding upstream or downstream during this approved event. 

 

Saturday 1st December

 

City Rowing Club is hosting its 'Christmas Head Race' between the Penny
Ferry public house, Chesterton, and the Goldie boathouse, 10:30 hr to 14:30
hr. As above, we request that navigators refer to the race marshals in
attendance to seek passage between race divisions. 

 

The Halingway towpath is a public right of way. Cyclists must give priority
to pedestrians at all times.
