This value has been calculated to ensure that all costs incurred by NCBC to hold the event have been covered. The boats that will receive a ?37 refund are listed below: Caius M3, M4 & W2 Christ's W2 Churchill M3 Clare M3 Downing W2 Emmanuel M3, W2 and W3 First & Third M3 & W3 Fitzwilliam M3 Girton M3 & W2 Hughes Hall/Lucy Cav W2 Jesus M4 & W3 King's M3 Magdalene M3 & W2 Pembroke M3, M4 & W2 Queens' M3 Selwyn M3 Sidney Sussex W2 We allowed all M1s, W1s and M2s to race, therefore no self-scratched crews that fall into these categories will be refunded. The only exceptions are the three M2s that were due to race in division 1. We appreciate that you may have been unable to change your division time at the late notice provided, and will therefore provide a goodwill partial refund of ?13. The boats that fall into this category are as follows: Christ's M2 Clare Hall M2 Queens' M2 If you feel that your boat has been missed from the above lists, please do not hesitate to contact me. February 14th-25th is sexual health awareness fortnight and as well as trained 'sexperts' being in clubs and on lecture sites, we're encouraging people to take advantage of the NHS chlamydia testing scheme. For the duration of the fortnight the chlamydia team are happy to come down to boatclubs early in the morning, or whenever you have training, with their kit (pee in a pot for guys, and girls have to do a swab) and *** LOADS OF FREE STUFF ***. They have great freebies like sperm key rings, lip balm, glow sticks, you name it. Plus all this month if you do a test you get a **free cinema ticket***. Chlamydia is the commonest sexually transmitted infection, but it's often symptomless and if untreated can make you infertile! If you think that this is something that your boat would be happy doing - (you can use the usual peer pressure that gets people out of bed at 7am!) either email me if you've got any further questions or email the guy that organises it directly at ***darren.flood at nhs.net**** with your training times between 14-25th feb. Give him a few different days to choose from and they should fit you in. Happy rowing! The undertaking is designed to prevent incompetent crews taking part in the racing and creating a danger to all other crews. The term "10 outings" refers to the whole crew and the cox, and the outings must have been in the present term. It also refers to the average of individual crew member's experience, but a member cannot be accepted if they have done less than eight. For example, if someone has only done 8 outings in this crew this term, then that could be compensated by someone having done 12, but if he or she has only done 7, then his/her outings do not count at all, and he/she should not be in the crew. Rowing done on any occasion before this term does not count, nor does rowing in another crew. Do not forget the cox. Please bear in mind our policy on refunds for scratches: - If you scratch by 5pm Wednesday (48 hours before), you get a 100% refund. - If you scratch by 5pm Thursday (24 hours before) or race the GoR and do not get on, you get a 50% refund. - If you scratch after 5pm Thursday or just don't turn up, you do not get a refund. For us to process this easily, to scratch please send an email to Dan (cucbc at cucbc.org) and to me (seniortreasurer at cucbc.org). If you simply withdraw your crew on the website, there is a chance we may not notice and you may not get the appropriate refund. Message-ID: <002501cbd487$1cb5efb0$5621cf10$@cucbc.org> **Captains - please forward to members of your club who may be interested in umpiring** Many thanks to all those who have signed up to umpire the Lent Bumps (1st-5th March). We are still looking for a few more people to help out - particularly on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. It is important that we have a full compliment of Umpires to ensure that the races run smoothly. Please do consider helping out. Umpiring is a really fun way to get involved in the Bumps - you get to see and be involved in the action from up close on the towpath, either cycling along with the crews or acting as a static umpire at key points on the course. In addition to this, you will get a free dinner, probably the week after Bumps and umpiring will reduce the number of marshals that your club needs to provide. To help out, you don't need to have umpired before although we do ask that you have rowed or coxed in at least 2 sets of Bumps in the past. There will be a meeting for all umpires where we will explain everything and those that have not umpired before will be paired with a 'senior' during the races. If you would like to help out, please sign up at http://www.cucbc.org/lents/umpires/signup indicating which divisions you are available for (the times of the divisions are listed at http://www.cucbc.org/lents/times). You can both compete and umpire (although obviously don't sign up to umpire a division you're competing in!) If you have any questions, please get in touch.
