Dear Captains,

It is important that crews report any incidents they experience immediately
to CUCBC either by e-mailing cucbc at cucbc.org, or by using the contact form
on the CUCBC website. Incidents like the one below need to be passed on to
us as soon as possible to avoid similar events happening in the future. Do
not assume that another crew has sent in a report. The more reports we
receive of an incident, the more credible our case is.

I received the following report of an incident with a barge at around 3pm on
Sunday, near Baitsbite lock. If your crew was involved, or you can give us
any description of the barge (ideally boat reg. number, but not necessarily)
or of the incident, then please contact me as soon as possible with details.

Incedent Report:
"A Wolfson VIII was spinning and I think it was a Caius IV+ sat waiting for
them to finish. A barge drove at full speed from the lock with considerable
wash at the spinning VIII and stationary IV+ (which had nowhere to go),
continually blasting its horn. At the point when the barge made itself
known the VIII was virtually halfway through spinning, and had no option but
to continue. The VIII only just managed to complete it's turn and get out
of the way."
