And another one for your info. It shouldn't stop crews carrying boats past the lock, if any are doing so that early in term, but be aware again that you may need to wait for contractors to move equipment and/or follow their instructions.

River users are advised that Baits Bite Lock will be closed for routine maintenance works on Wednesday 22nd April 2009, as advertised in the Cambridge Evening News and on the Conservators’ web-site and notice boards, as follows:
 
 
NOTICE is hereby given under Section 42 of the River Cam Navigation Act 1851 that navigation on the River Cam at Baits Bite Lock, Milton, will be suspended from 8am to 6pm on Wednesday 22nd April 2009.
 
This suspension of navigation is due to routine maintenance works. The lock will be out of action between these times. 
 
The Conservators of the River Cam apologise for any inconvenience caused.
