Dear Captains,
 
I have been advised to email this address to enquire to CBC captains about the availability of
wooden VIIIs for sale in their clubs. I'm aware that I have spoken to a couple of you already, but
thought this would be the most sure-fire method of approaching all college boat houses with my
enquiry.
 
I have been seeking a wooden VIII to put on display, and would be grateful if anyone could let me
know if they have one, or know of another club that might.

Dear all
I'm pleased to inform of progress on this issue, which has been a subject we
have received increasing numbers of questions about.
After further discussion with Bill Key for the CRA, we have agreed that the
following system will be put in place with immediate effect, and its
operation will be for a trial period between now and the start of Michaelmas
Full Term:
On Sundays, student clubs will be able to use the river after 1200,
obviously subject to any closures required for notified events. There is no
change to the current unrestricted use on Saturdays in the holidays.
For this period, the relevant CUCBC rule prohibiting College rowing on
Sundays will be put in abeyance. Individuals and crews who do use the newly
available period should as always behave with consideration to other users.
In particular, be aware that although the river is generally very quiet in
this period, there are times when a number of inexperienced junior scullers
may be on the water.
At the start of next Full Term, subject to the normal approval at a captains
meeting, we expect to revert to the normal winter termtime access
arrangements, ie after 1200 on Saturday and Sunday.

Following my email earlier in the summer regarding mailing list
changes and website downtime:

1) MAILING LIST ADDRESS CHANGES

Please be aware that the addresses of the CUCBC Mailing Lists have
been changed with immediate effect.  This is to decrease the junk/spam
email load on our filtering systems.  To send emails to the lists,
please use these new addresses:

boatmen at lists.cucbc.org
captains at lists.cucbc.org
contacts at lists.cucbc.org
coxes at lists.cucbc.org
safety at lists.cucbc.org

You will notice the addresses are the same except "cucbc.org" has been
replaced with "lists.cucbc.org".

Full details, including instructions for joining/leaving lists and
links to list archives are available at http://www.cucbc.org/lists.


2) WEBSITE DOWNTIME

The CUCBC.org website will be taken offline for maintenance, upgrades
and updates during the next week.  Although mail systems will remain
online, their reliance on the cucbc.org web address may mean access to
webmail and mailing lists is patchy.  We will attempt to get the site
back online as soon as possible so full service is resumed in time for
the run up to Michaelmas Term.
